The first quarter of 2024 saw varied performance metrics for the top carpooling and ridesharing apps in Africa. Here’s a detailed look at their weekly downloads and active user trends.

inDrive. Save on city rides experienced a steady increase in weekly downloads, peaking at approximately 187K in mid-February. Active users also showed a general upward trend, with numbers rising from around 1.24M at the start of January to about 1.45M by early March.

Bolt: Request a Ride had a strong quarter with weekly downloads fluctuating between 115K and 175K, peaking in early March. Active users followed a similar upward trend, starting at 1.91M at the beginning of January and reaching over 2.17M by late March.

Uber - Request a ride showed consistent growth in weekly downloads, with numbers ranging from 80K to 104K. Active user numbers were notably high, starting at 2.38M and peaking at 2.85M by early March.
